GET PATRONI

VH-XBA is carefully pushed back on to her concrete pads at Longreach on 10 June. Participant and photographer Jeff Richards explains: "To move the aircraft from the hardstand to the final resting place on the concrete wheel pads (about 60 metres) it was necessary to use 1" thick ply panels to spread the load. Darryl Pitkin skilfully drove the tractor and the rest of us were Peter's slaves, walking the ply panels in the direction of movement in front of the wheels. It was like moving the stones to build the pyramids, and some of us have the whip marks."
